floodlands

Today Midnight Oil (Antarctica) and Sisters of Mercy (Flood I) prove their worth as designing music.

The recent spate of floods that have shocked the country are a bit extreme – and hitting a bit close to home on Nimbus.  Turns out that Machynlleth and the  Dyfi valley in Wales, where I stayed for the writing retreat and also where an integral part of the story happens, were hit by some of the bad floods.

Today I was reading the reports on the Cumbria floods (see BBC article here) and couldn’t help but think of my character Martha and the Cumbria flooding chapter.  Hmm.  If I’m not careful, real life is going to catch up with my story!  I really hope I’m not right.

Well until the gods and the giants step in, we should be safe for now.
